My Instant Brush Cleanser Experience

I was having a bit of a lazy ass kick last night and my make-up brushes were dying to be cleaned. Cleaning your brushes is definitely a must! You use them on your face most of time so you better make sure you clean them after use otherwise all the bacteria will be on your skin causing a breakout. Anyway, I decided to get an Instant Brush Cleanser recipe off the internet because I don't want to hassle myself with the deep cleaning. So I found one that was easy to do and I have most of the ingredients.

Ingredients:
Water
Shampoo
Dish washing detergent
Alcohol
Leave-In Conditioner (I skipped this cause I don't have one)

You mix them all in a bowl but try not to stir them too much cause you don't want them to bubble up.

From the recipe I read you pour the mixture in a small bowl and dip your brush in then flip it back and forth with a clean towel/cloth.

So I took my foundation brush and did the procedure. At first I can see that the foundation is coming off the brush but when I checked it thoroughly I found that it doesn't really clean the brush well. You can still see the foundation inside the bristles, so I kept flipping my brush back and forth on the towel and after a good 5 mins I gave up a decided to go to the sink and deep clean my brush.

But I didn't give up on the recipe just yet (I mean let's be honest it'd be a waste!) so I tried cleaning my eye brushes and it worked fine. I guess it could be the foundation itself making it hard to remove from the brush. So I'm not sure if I want to recommend this recipe just because after all the trouble I gone through with this brush cleanser it made deep cleaning much easier. After I clean the brush with the towel I had to rinse the brush with water because you can feel the soap in it.

It did help cleaning my eye brushes easily though, either way out of 5 I give this recipe a 2.

If you have a better recipe let me know because I really want an Instant cleanser but I don't want to waste cash for the Mac Cleanser even though I heard good reviews on it. I'm sure there's one I can just make at home... hehe

Loves,
jCel ♥
