[BOOK-IT]: September

Okay I know its been a while since my last BookIt! Update sadly I haven’t read much in the last 2 months, living a double life is quite time consuming as I’ve come to know now. *kidding* It has been pretty hectic plus I still haven’t gotten over the whole Fifty Shades of Grey debacle so yea… Anyways, safe to say that’s all over now and I did good reading 4 books for September already however as per my Goodreads status I’m still 8 books behind, ugh (I did my best but I guess my best wasn’t good enough) whatever! I needed an excuse to post a BookIt! picture hehe so here it is...

Book Challenge update:

July
10.   50 Shades of Grey
11.   Gucci Gucci Coo

August
            NONE

September isn’t over but I don’t think I’d be able to read any more books next week so I will give a rundown of my September reads now.

September
12.   Every time we say goodbye
13.   Intentions
14.   Banished #1
15.   Unforsaken #2

I wrote up reviews for my books I've read lately in my Goodreads account so you can just check that out. My recommended book this month is Banished. I absolutely love it. In fact, I love it a tad bit more than the 2nd book, Unforsaken but both are really good so please take time to read them and let me know what you think.

Now my October reads, I’m planning to go down the road of Self Help books not because I’m in need of help or anything but I thought I’d try. The number of books I have read under this genre I can count with my one hand and I ought to change that. So here are my prospective reads for October:

Life Overflowing by TD Jakes
Dealing with Difficult People by Roy Lilley
How to Deal with Stress by Cary Cooper & Stephen Palmer
How to Organize Yourself by John Caunt

Also adding to my October reads that are not Self Help are:

Divergent by Veronica Roth
Legend Book 1 by Marie Lu

Hopefully I’d be able to finish all 6 books by next month so I can catch up… The challenge ends at January, yikes just a few months away!

I have more books to recommend in my Goodreads, so “friend” me please! I beg you! LOL

Till my next post…

[M.I.Y]: Create your own lip & cheek tint!

Aloha pretty ladies! Didn't August just fly by?! I still can't believe it's already September and really Christmas is just a cartwheel away. But to start off the BER months let's do a little MIY shall we?!

When we went to the Philippines earlier this year most of my makeups were ruined but I have managed to salvage them except for my LA Colors blush because it fell off the table and broke into a million pieces. One of the product that was ruined was my NYX lipstick in Fig. Due to the extremely hot weather in the Philippines my lipstick has melted and when I was about to use it, it fell right off but I was able to stick it back to its tube until I had this genius plan of turning it into a creme but don't worry I am here to share my ingenious idea with you.

First you will need:

Empty container - got mine in Bonjour for $5 (HK)
Lighter
Candle - it doesn't have to be scented, LOL!
Spoon - Metal, not plastic.
And of course, your lipstick of choice :)

Start of my lighting the candle, then scrape your lipstick onto the spoon and place it above the candle.

It doesn't have to be super close to the candle but just enough to melt the lipstick. Yes, the bright idea here is to melt your lipstick.

After a 3-5 minutes your lipstick should be all liquidy which you can then pour into your empty container.

And tada! Not only will you be reusing your lipstick but you can also use this as a cheek tint. See ladies we don't need to spend to get those much covetted Bobbi Brown lip and cheek products. We can recreate! Yes I know it's not as if I have discovered the cure to cancer but hey I bet most of you have had melted lipsticks you want to salvage right. Another idea for this trick is to deposit them into a medicine kit and turn it into a lip palette.

So ladies, don't throw them ruined makeups I'm sure we can find a way to resurrect them, hehe

Do send us pictures if you have done this we'd love to see your finish products.

Till next time,
jCel♥

[REVIEW]: (BeautyDiary) Strawberry Yoghurt Mask

I've never really done a product review on this blog before and I think it's about time I join the bandwagon. When I do read through blogs I appreciate it more when they do a review on just the one product alone rather than posting review on 7 products all at once so that's what we are going to do from now on.

First product to review, BeautyDiary face mask. This has been so raved about in the bloggingsphere so curious little me decided to get my hands on them to try. However they have so many different kinds of face masks so I would suggest to do a little research beforehand because it can get quite overwhelming. So I browsed and browsed and browsed more and finally settled on getting the Strawberry Yoghurt Mask.

Here's what it says in the website:

Purpose:
Brightening, improving fine lines and oil control
Skin type:
All skin types, especially combination skin
Ingredients:
Purified Water, Glycerine, Propylene Glycol, 1,3 Butylene Glycol, Triethanol amine, Tween 20, Yogurt, Hyaluronic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Algae, Malva sylvestris, Arctostaphylos uva ursi, Saccharum officinarum, Acer Saccharum, Citrus medica Limonum, Vaccinium myrtillus, Styrene/acrylates copolymer, Dimethylsilanol hyaluronate, Propyl Paraben, Methyl Paraben, Carbomer, Polyglutamic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance, Fragariavria vesca Fruit Extract, Citrus Anrantium Dulcis Fruit Extract

I can tell you now that there is no English in the packaging
except for the name of the Mask.

There are 10 sheets in each box. When you tear off the pack, the sheet is extremely soaked which I personally like because it means it will all go to my skin. I didn't find putting the sheet to be messy and despite the fact that it is very wet I didn't experience any drips because the essence is more of a slightly watery gel texture.

Next thing I noticed is that it smells exactly like Strawberry Pocky! I'm serious, if you don't know what Pocky is, its a japanese snack of chocolate sticks which also comes in Strawberry flavour. I love Pocky ergo I love the smell of this mask although I can see that some might be put off by this. It's not overly perfumed but just that it lingers until the sheet is all dry.

What I think:

I honestly cannot express how I much love this face mask. It really does what it claims. As soon as I take off the mask I notice that my skin is much more brighter and hydrated. Also it gives me a more radiant glow. I once used this mask on with an active pimple and the next day, I kid you not, it's gone! Having said that, I can confirm that it will not stop you from having pimples every so often but it helps heal and dry it out a lot faster than if you didn't use this. I also find that some of my blemishes have faded which is quite a big deal to me because I have been struggling to get them blemishes disappear.

However I only use this mask twice a week because I find that the suppleness and glow it gives last for more than a day and I really don't want to overpack my skin with the essence as it will only lead to a breakout, based on my experiences. After using this face mask I do however still lather on some moisturizer because I feel like it will seal the essence? I don't know maybe its my wacky brain talking but my face is so much more smoother the next day.

I use this every Monday and Thursday, I have sort of routined my skin to it and so far its working perfectly well. Also I find that since using this face mask my skin is relatively less oily.

Would I recommend?

Definitely, especially for those on the more oilier side. Not only does it work but it's cheap. I bought mine at Bonjour for $56(HKD) so really guys you won't have to break the bank! I'm down to my last 3 sheets... sad :(

What other masks would you suggest me to try next time?
