Book-It! (April)

Well I said in my previous post that I didn’t get to do any readings last month but it bit me in the butt. I had said that without consulting my Book Challenge list where I write all the books I finished each month. I found that I did in fact finished 2 books before my holiday which means I have an excuse to share a BookIt! picture hehe

April Reads
10.  Hana (Delirium Book 1.5)
11.  Tunnels of Blood, book 3 (Darren Shan series)

I have actually read a total of 12 books since we started this challenge, 38 more to go! I just finished Shanghai Girls last night but that will go into my book reads for May.

My books for April are just continuation of what I read on February. Here are my takes on the 2 books.

Hana – If you haven’t read any of the Delirium books, Hana is Lena’s bestfriend. Lena is the main character in both Delirium and Pandemonium. This is more like pocketbook because it just tells you briefly what happened and how Hana felt before she undergoes the “operation”. When they turn 16, everybody needs to undergo an operation to remove their ability to Love because to them Love is a disease which causes serious damage to your brain. I don’t want to explain further because it will ruin the suspense of all the books but I would suggest you to read Delirium before you read Hana and Pandemonium otherwise the plots will not make any sense. To me, this is neither here or there. It really isn’t necessary for you to read this book before going into Pandemonium but then again it is nice to know Hana’s side of the story. Not a good read but also not a bad read, it’s just… okay-ish.

Tunnels of Blood – This is the last book I read in the Darren Shan series. I know there are loads more but I don’t think I will be getting them. As much as I enjoyed this last book I think I’ve had enough of the vampires and extraordinary creatures in my imagination. Like I said in my February post, this is a children’s book so you need to watch out for some really lame storylines but once you let go of those you will be able to enjoy it.

So to choose one book to recommend, I will have to say Tunnels of Blood. I think my May reads will be far more interesting.

Till my next post…

Ciao!
